“ A cute taco place located on a quieter street of Hicksville, but still near Broadway. There's plenty of parking outside the restaurant and across the road. The place is quite small but has 3 tables that seat 4 people each. There's also a restroom for customer use. In addition to Jarritos, they also have a fridge full of sodas, horchatas, and flan. The menu has a huge variety as well, but I only tried their tacos. I got a carnitas, chorizo, and a shrimp taco. Shrimp is usually my favorite choice for tacos, but not a lot of places serve it. I'm happy this place does and they make it pretty good - very tender and flavorful, not dry at all! The other two tacos were good as well. It's a bit expensive buying each taco individually. I recommend getting the combo of 3 and sharing it with a friend! The wait time is 15 minutes which is a bit long, but it passes by quickly for me because my order payment was messed up as they inputted the wrong items. So, the cashier corrected the order in the kitchen first then returned to help me correct the payment. I recommend eating the tacos fresh there if there is seating. The Jarritos wall is a nice touch in addition to the other beautiful decorations. Would definitely return next time to sit in! ”

“ Best in this area so far! I ordered on Uber eats and Uber mixed up my order! So I needed to go here in person to get my actual order and this place was tiny and actually so cute and well done. I even posted it on my story :) I'll definitely stay for lunch next time. The foods yummy and authentic and the workers who I've spoken to were really patient and great with me they were warm hearted and apologized for any mix up even though it wasn't technically their fault they took the loss. Will be back and back and back. Viva la raza lol ”

“ Really authentic, good, home cooked Mexican food. The menu is mostly tacos, but they also have enchiladas and tostadas. They have aguas frescas in the cooler as well. Everything is very good prices as well. I got a beef enchilada with red salsa. The sauce was spicy and the beef was flavorful. The rice was a little bland but mixed with the enchilada sauce or the beans it was perfect. I don't usually like beans but the beans were so good- tender without being over cooked and very flavorful. The woman who took my order was extremely sweet as well. I talked to her about the Jarritos wall and she said everyone always asks- yes they are real! ”

“ I came across this place in search of Birria Tacos. When I arrived, I was greeted with kindness and a smile behind the counter. I sat down and waited for my order to be prepared, which only took about 15 min or so (not bad). The place is small, cute, clean, and has lots of beverage options. My Birria Tacos came with 3, and a small cup of consume. The presentation was beautiful! The tacos were a little plain to me, but with the sauce they were good, it had a nice kick to it! ”

“ If you are looking for authentic Mexican, look no further. This is truly a hole in the wall located on East Marie Street hust east of the fire house. Absolutely authentic Mexican. Fresh. Tacos are served in a double taco. They have Mexican Coke and homemade drinks like Tamarind. Staff is wonderful and very friendly. I usually get the 3 taco special. I like helping the little guy. Definitely worth a try. ”

“ We were craving tacos after shopping today and were looking for a place that had lengua as an option. Stopped in here after searching on Yelp, The woman at the counter was very sweet and patient while we browsed the menu, Unfortunately they are not offering lengua right now due to increased meat costs. We opted to have a trio mix of two chicken and one steak instead. I also ordered a verdes tamale to try. While preparing our order, the woman at the counter offered us to try a sweet tamale (such a nice surprise!). Please note: the menu prices are now higher than what is on the printed menu. Overall, very good quality, fresh ingredients and very kind staff. I would definitely go back here! ”

“ Love this place, family operated taqueria in Hicksville right down the road from House of Donuts. The food is great, and they have some of the best Birria Tacos I've tried. Most times I go I get the Birria Tacos as I've recently tried Birria at the truck in Jackson heights and fell in love. I'd say that when it comes to Nassau county, this place has the best Birria I've had and it's nice to get my fix without having to take a long trip. They are also introducing Birria ramen soon. This place also has a great selection of drinks such as your traditional horchata, Jamaica, and tamarind drinks in different sizes next two imported sodas like jaritos and large glass bottles of Coca-Cola. Check it out if your in the mood for some great food at a decent price! ”

“ This is my new favorite "Go-to" spot for Mexican food in the area, especially since my former favorite spot, Nelly's Taqueria, is no longer open at lunch time. Based on my visits south of the border into Mexico, this is also the most AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant I've visited here in the States (so far). The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is always fresh. I've been working my way through their menu and I have to admit, being raised on the American concept of "Mexican food" I'm not familiar with a LOT of the items on the menu but I'm learning and enjoying the journey. My new favorite is probably their "Cemitas;" Mexican sandwiches served on a sesame roll with chipotle peppers, refried beans, cheese, avocado, onions, papalo (a Mexican herb), mayo and tomato with a choice of meat. They also have a great selection of Jarritos, the fruit sodas that are so popular in Mexico. Much more interesting than cola or root beer. Definitely worth a look if you're ever in the area! ”
